Netbooks, being as they are comparatively new on the landscape, have other labels applied to them such as mini laptop computers or ultraportables. With the name notebook computer being synonymous with laptop.

Netbook computers, are considered to be within the subnotebooks category, that is a rapidly – developing type of little, lightweight, lower price range laptop computers that is intended for ordinary computing along with the utilization of web-based applications (they are enabled to hook up to the web wirelessly).

And so, for the present time, a netbook computer might best be identified as a smaller, less costly laptop computer sans an optical disc drive.
